PDF to Excel (XLSX) Converter
Copying a table out of a PDF usually gives you a jumble of text. This tool rebuilds the rows and columns from where the text sits on the page and saves them as an Excel workbook. Preview it first, then download.
Works best with
- Bank and credit card statements downloaded from net banking
- Invoices, price lists and reports exported from accounting software
- Mark sheets and result lists published as PDFs
If a statement is password-protected (many banks use your date of birth or customer ID), open it with the Unlock PDF tool first.
Tidying up in Excel
Multi-page tables repeat their header on every page. After downloading, turn on a filter on the header row, filter that column for the header text and delete those rows. Descriptions that wrapped onto a second line appear as a row with only that column filled. Merge them, or delete them if you only need the amounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I convert my bank statement PDF to Excel?
Yes. Statements downloaded from net banking work best since they contain real text; scanned or photographed ones are read with OCR. Choose 'All in one' so every page lands in one sheet, then delete the repeated header rows. Because nothing is uploaded, your account details stay on your device.
How does it find the columns?
It looks for vertical strips of empty space that run down the page between the text. Those gaps become column boundaries, which works for both left-aligned text and right-aligned amounts. Rows with text that crosses a gap, like a long note, are tolerated.
Why are some columns merged or split?
Tables without clear spacing between columns, or with cells that wrap onto several lines, can confuse the detection. A wrapped cell shows up as an extra row with text in only that column. These are quick to tidy in Excel, and the preview shows you what to expect before you download.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. A scan is only a picture of a table, so the tool spots scanned pages and reads them with OCR (text recognition) in your browser, then rebuilds the rows and columns as usual. Pick the languages on the page (English and 10 Indian languages are supported) and use 'Read scanned pages now' to check the preview first. The OCR engine and language data are downloaded once; your PDF is never uploaded. Check the amounts afterwards, since OCR can misread blurred digits.
Are amounts stored as numbers?
With 'Store amounts as numbers' on, values like 1,25,000.50, ₹ 500 or (1,200) become numeric cells (the bracketed one as −1200), so SUM and sorting work. Values with leading zeros, such as account numbers and PIN codes, stay as text so the zeros aren't lost.
